Her father, the late Santu Mukherjee, was a Bengali actor, and her mother, Gopa Mukherjee, is a homemaker. Her elder sister, Swastika Mukherjee, is a well-known actress in Bengali and Hindi cinema. Her paternal uncle, Sumanta Mukherjee, is an actor, and her paternal cousin, Madhubanti Mukherjee, is an assistant director. Ajopa is married to Abhi, and they have a son named Rahul.
